In the home business world there seemed to be no decent or unbiased advice. Just an avalanche of adverts all telling you that just what you need to do is buy this or that product or service. On the other side there seemed to be highly opinionated people of dubious ability or experience.

I decided to do something about this... it took 18 months to raise Ł200,000 ($360,000) seed capital and then a further 2 ˝ years of testing, learning, observing and recording.

My Motivation?

This is always a key question, in this case it was to find the best opportunities to use myself and to monetise the results of the research, primarily by publishing a guidebook.

An altruistic reason was to provide some much needed help for other people who have the get-up-and-go attitude to try a home business.

The results were often unexpected and in some cases shocking! Money was made were it was least expected and ‘dead cert's’ failed to produce anything except a loss.
